Established in 1985, Alaqua (pronounced Ah-la-kwa) is one of Seminole County’s premier golf communities located off Markham Woods Road in beautiful Longwood, Florida. Alaqua is a 24-hour manned gated community consisting of more than 200 luxury custom homes on spacious one-acre plus lots along the Wekiva River Conservation Area. Homes in Alaqua range from 4,000 to over 13,000 sqft and were built between 1987 and 2016. Alaqua is also home to the prestigious Alaqua Country Club, a private 18 hole championship golf course designed by international golfing legend Gary Player. In 2014, a brand new community was established within the gates of Alaqua. The Reserve at Alaqua is a small enclave of 44 new construction homes on lots up to 1/4 acre.
